WE'RE QUIET, BUT WE ARE FAR FROM DONE

Dear Wolfeboro Folk supporters:

First and most definitely foremost, THANK YOU for the endless barrage of emails that have come since the start of our temporary hiatus, asking that Wolfeboro Folk return before long.

While I haven’t had the ability to respond to each one, they were all greatly appreciated.

Wolfeboro Folk is indeed on a hiatus, but only temporary.

Since starting Wolfeboro Folk seven years ago, I’ve welcomed a beautiful son to my family and taken over the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth. As a free festival that presents over 55 shows each summer, produces its own musical and enjoys over 180,000 attendees, it has made running the once-weekly Wolfeboro Folk a challenge, along with finding time for my family.

As well, Wolfeboro Folk is by far a solo mission. Starting with my good friend, Steve, it grew to involve countless other people, families, and community-spirited volunteers, all absolutely crucial for its success and operation.

With my wife adding graduate school on top of her full-time job, and two of my key volunteers announcing their own additions to their families, I knew the time for a break was here.

Still, there is nothing I enjoy more than listening to exceptional music fill the barn on a warm summer evening, see the community come together, or watch as people discover acts that I find so incredibly talented.  I love music, but more importantly, I love sharing it.

You’ll see concerts start to pop up on the website before long and, before you know it, the monthly series that went from a tiny Garwoods venue to transforming a barn into a venue and recording Bruce Cockburn’s latest world-release live CD, will be back up and running once again.

Send me an email (ben@wolfeborofolk.com) and I'll add you to our email list and we’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for believing in Wolfeboro Folk and supporting us for all of these years.

Oh, and in the meantime, check out www.prescottpark.org and come find me in Prescott Park and enjoy a free show with Tom Rush, Richie Havens, Solas, The Makem Brothers, Jonathan Edwards, David Bromberg, and our own production of Grease. It’s a short trip and you’ll quickly see why this festival has long been a favorite Seacoast summer tradition for the past 35 years.

See you before long,

Ben
